The Best Workwear Story

Our workwear heritage is our key strength, with four decades experience of sourcing and supplying workwear and PPE in an ever-changing market. Currently operating from a warehouse facility in the Shropshire town of Bridgnorth, the foundations of our workwear company were laid in a family run shop at Swancote, just a mile away from our current location.

In the early 1970s a well known figure in the local community, Bob Turner owned a popular, well stocked clothing shop on the site of his family’s earlier equestrian business, dating back to 1935 under the name Firscroft Riding Stables (FRS). From here he supplied the local community and those working on the land with quality outdoor clothing and footwear.

A heritage dating back to 1935, a rich history and invaluable industry experience, we’ve built our reputation on delivering excellence for our customers in the UK and now around the world in more than 20 countries.

At this time Bob was also working at CMT Industrial Supplies in the West Midlands where he gained a valuable understanding of the workwear and PPE markets and the needs of a variety of industries. With this knowledge and experience, Bob left CMT and, along with an old friend, Gordon Smith, founded a workwear company, Beeswift Ltd.

Initially, this new business was run from outbuildings at Bob’s family home, but they soon generated some excellent orders which lead to rapid growth. This enabled Beeswift to move up to larger premises in the West Midlands, eventually settling at their current base in West Bromwich, where they now employ over 100 people.

Bob retired from Beeswift in 1998 and, with Son’s Ben and Rupert, set about combining the family’s experience in workwear and outdoor clothing in a new online business. This new venture went from strength to strength and eventually outgrew the family’s home. Now settled at Stanmore Industrial Estate just a mile away from the shop, the offices and warehouse export to over 20 countries. Still very active within the business, Bob is our ‘go-to man’ for specific requests and product advice.
