General Purpose Gloves

A wide range of work gloves for general purposes including gardening, brick laying and construction, rough handling, scaffolders, factories and warehousing and many more applications.

Our range of working gloves also include quality hide leather models that are extremely tough and will take some real stick. These are popular with gardeners and landscapers as the tough hide is thorn-proof and good for pruning.

We offer a broad selection of coated working gloves, such as the incredibly popular 'grip glove' style. This takes a cotton, polyester or nylon base glove and then coats the palm (or the entire hand) in a substance to make it have more grip or to be tougher, or both, and have varying levels of dexterity. These coatings are usually latex rubber but we stock styles coated with PU (polyurethane) or nitrile foam as well. Some of these grip gloves come with integral insulation, which makes them suitable for winter or cold store use.

Please note due to limitations of the EN388 cut resistance test with more cut resistant gloves many gloves that were formerly rated cut 4 or 5 will now have an X for cut resistance but will be tested to the additional EN ISO 13997 standard. These gloves will be rated from A (lowest rating) to F (highest rating). In the new EN388 standard markings the first 4 numbers remain the same but the 5^th position will show the A-F rating for ISO 13997, if the glove passes the impact protection test there will be a “P” in the 6^th position. The above may now need to be considered when choosing your cut resistant gloves if you need to spec gloves that were formerly rated cut 4 or 5.

We also currently stock PVC gloves. Again this is a coated liner glove but coated with PVC. There has been many problems with stock of this type of glove as there has been some EU dispute about phthalate based plasticizers used to soften the PVC to allow for a more flexible glove. This type of working glove is still available - the main consequence of the dispute has unfortunately been to drive prices upwards.
