Rigger Boots

A big range of rigger boots from Click, Dickies, Cofra, Grafters, Sterling, Apache and of course the brand leading Jalaska rigger boot from Jallatte. The rigger boot is a traditional style of industrial safety boot and has been around for donkey's years. There are a number of modern variations, and innovations in materials but the general style has remained the same. They have remained so popular because of their comfort and ease of use - no laces to mess around with and they're easy to clean. There have numerous rumours in recent years that rigger boots have been, or are about to be, banned. This is simply not true but seems to spread by chinese whispers nonetheless. Some sites do not allow rigger boots but that may be because they've carried out their own risk assessment and identified a risk specific to them, such as welding, which would make riggers unsuitable. More often than not though, the safety officer has heard the same untrue rumours and makes a decision based on that! The usual reason that is wheeled out is that rigger boots do not provide enough ankle support. Virtually none of the lace up safety boots on the market claim to provide ankle support and safety shoes, which are usually allowed, don't even reach the ankle so the argument is pretty nonsensical. Rigger boots will continue to be manufactured and will continue to be loved by their many users. With any luck, the rumours will dissipate and riggers can continue to be used in those situations to which they are suited.
